There is no doubt that the world wide web is the fastest growing phenomenon of our modern age. Our children are now born into a society where communication and knowledge is available at their fingertips.

With one in thirteen of the world’s population now on facebook the web is still growing and has now become second nature to most children. However due to the unpredicted spurt of the digital age over the past decade this means our understanding and teaching of this subject has sadly fell behind.

Along with all the benefits of the web it also has its flaws, leaving children wide open to an array of subjects online that young eyes should not be allowed to see. As well as leaving them open to chat with strangers they have never met, all of which they are capable of doing without parents or teachers ever knowing.

As a step in the right direction for Internet Safety, local Web Design & Digital Marketing Agency inLIFE Design Ltd have teamed up with the charity CSEF (Childrens Safety Education foundation) to fund an Internet Safety Education package for local Boney Hay Junior School.

“The newly funded Junior Citizen digital title is set to help children in key stage 2 with safety education allowing children to interact with examples of real world situations” – Robert Wells, CSEF

Jennifer Matthewman the Head teacher at Boney Hay School understands the importance of Internet Safety in Schools and now aims to roll out teaching the subject throughout key stage 2 with the use of the newly funded Digital Junior Citizen title.

“It’s important our children are not restricted from the web due to a lack of understanding. The web is still young with plenty more to show us and our children will be the ones to guide that” – David Whitehouse, Managing Director. inLIFE Design Ltd
