In a world where climate change and environmental sustainability are at the forefront of our collective consciousness, more and more individuals and businesses are taking proactive steps to reduce their carbon footprint and minimise their impact on the environment.

We are excited to share that we have embarked on our own sustainable journey by building our very own office on our land, and we’ve decided to document the entire process through a vlog series.

Why Are We Building Our Own Office?

For many, the idea of building their own office space might seem like a daunting endeavor, especially when renting or purchasing a pre-existing space is a more conventional route. However, our decision to construct a sustainable office on our land was driven by several important factors:

  1. Environmental Responsibility: We recognise the pressing need to reduce our carbon footprint and lessen the environmental impact of our business operations. Constructing our own office allows us to design and build a space that aligns with our commitment to eco-friendliness.
  2. Energy Efficiency: Commercial spaces are often notorious for their high energy consumption. By building our office from the ground up, we have the opportunity to implement the latest energy-efficient technologies, reducing our long-term operating costs and environmental impact.
  3. Creativity and Innovation: Designing our office space from scratch provides a blank canvas for creativity. We can experiment with innovative architectural and design solutions that not only create a unique and inspiring workspace but also contribute to sustainability.
  4. Long-term Savings: While the initial investment in building our own office is significant, we believe that the long-term savings in operational costs, energy efficiency, and reduced maintenance expenses will ultimately make it a wise financial decision.

Our Sustainable Building Journey

Our journey to build a fully sustainable and eco-friendly office started with careful planning and research. We sought out experts in sustainable architecture and construction to help us design a space that would embody our environmental values. Here are some of the key sustainability features we’ve incorporated into our project:

  1. Solar Power: Solar panels will be installed to harness clean and renewable energy from the sun, reducing our reliance on conventional electricity sources.
  2. Rainwater Harvesting: We’ll collect rainwater to use for irrigation and flushing toilets, minimizing our water consumption.
  3. Passive Design: The building’s orientation and layout have been optimized to make the most of natural light and ventilation, reducing the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning.
  4. Recycled Materials: Whenever possible, we are using recycled and reclaimed materials for construction, further reducing our ecological footprint.
  5. Energy-efficient Appliances: We’re investing in energy-efficient lighting, heating, and cooling systems to lower our energy consumption.

Vlogging Our Green Build

To share our sustainable journey with the world, we’ve started vlogging the entire build process. Our vlog series will document not only the construction phases but also the decision-making processes, challenges we face. We hope that by sharing our journey, we can inspire others to consider sustainable building practices and change the way the world does business, contributing to a greener future.

We are determined to have our sustainable office ready by December, and we can’t wait to move in and start working in a space that aligns with our eco-conscious values. Stay tuned for updates on our vlog series and join us in our mission to create a greener, more sustainable future.

We will be holding a networking opening day in the new year! So watch this space, and keep an eye on our social media channels for ongoing progress updates!

We are thrilled to have won The Chambers of Commerce Lichfield Small Business of the Year 2023!

We were honoured when we discovered that we had initially made the short list. Having been told this was the most competitive category with the most entrants on record, we did not however expect to be making the centre stage.

A hand full of the inLIFE team attended the Chambers Annual Dinner and Awards Black-tie event held at Drayton Manor. We sat on a table with some of our other clients, and when inLIFE were announced we quickly went from surprise to pride as the team headed onto the stage to accept the award.

As if it couldn’t get any better, our clients on our table both then their awards in respective categories. With Cheryl at WordyBird taking Small Business of the year Cannock, and Paul Barnes and the team at Cloud Accounting Support Services taking Small Business of the year Tamworth!

We are very proud of our team and everyone who has supported us in achieving this award from the Chambers of Commerce, andย  we will certainly be milking it for some time!

Meet Laura & Charlotte

Itโ€™s a shocking statistic to absorb, but only 19% of the tech industry is made up of women. With the theme for #InternationalWomensDay2022 being gender equality, we thought weโ€™d introduce you to two of our key women at inLIFE Design, Laura and Charlotte.

Laura is our Head Developer. She started with inLIFE on a work placement from Staffordshire University in 2015. Following her graduation, we then employed her as a Junior Developer and in 2021 she became our Head Developer at inLIFE.

Laura develops websites from the ground up using HTML, PHP, CSS and back-end databases. She collaborates with the designer to advise on what is possible and sits in meetings with clients to help them understand the best way of achieving their goals as well as teaching them to use their website editing tools when the site is handed over.

Charlotte joined inLIFE from a University placement in 2019. After her graduation, we were delighted to employ her on a full-time basis as our Head Designer. Charlotte designs everything, from website and digital marketing through to print material and most recently, a billboard and bus advertising for Dudley Council as part of a large project inLIFE were working on.

Charlotte’s role is to look at a website and determine the user journeyย to present the best website possible for a client, their users, and their business.

Charlotte and Laura work together to ensure everything is synchronisedย from the design concept through to development and delivery of the final project.

A recent survey conducted by PWC revealed that only 3% of females say that a career in technology is their first choice. With only 5% of women in technology holding leadership positions, weโ€™re incredibly proud at inLIFE to be promoting women in technology and taking a step closer to gender inequality in the tech workplace. Itโ€™s time to #BreakTheBias.

We are are very proud to say that we are now currently the number one recommended web design and digital marketing agency in Staffordshire (in fact even in the general marketing agency sector over all!)

This is obviously something we are extremely proud of and humbled by.

It would not have been possible without the awesome team at inLIFE as well as our wonderful clients and all their glowing reviews.

So a big thank you to you all.

These statistics are based on Google reviews, and also matching results on the ‘The Best of Staffordshire‘ (both individually and not combined!) . Each of these platforms reviews are also independently verified by the service provider.

We love working with local companies providing Web design in Staffordshire and SEO in Staffordshire as well as a range of other digital marketing solutions. With our open office we also welcome all clients to come down for a chat or just a game on the arcade or pool table with us. Staffordshire is known as the creative county and we feel a proud part of it’s ethos!

inLIFE now look forward to an ongoing relationship with local clients as well as continuing to grow our reputation moving forwards!

This week we had the please of being visited by our new client ‘Foka Wolf’

If you have not heard this name yet (particularly in the Midlands) then we can only imagine you have been living under an anti social media rock, in which case then do a quick Google search for ‘Foka Wolf’ or take a look at a handy couple of articles below.

He / She has been compared to the likes of Banksy by the BBC, however with his / her own individual unique style of art. Foka wolf told us ‘The aim is to cause the subject to think about the world and come to their own conclusion, with a humorous undertone of course’

We are very pleased to say that inLIFE are going to working with the legendary Wolf closely on a new project to be launched soon. Watch this space.

As an added bonus we were presented with signed artwork fresh from the latest art exhibition which now adorns the walls of our 121 meeting zone in the office.

As for who the real Foka Wolf is… there is a very real possibility that we actually met with an actor relaying all information through an ear piece, so no one still knows for sure.

We will update the blog with more news on the upcoming project as it unravels.

Our CEO decided to head back to his old haunting ground this week and re visit his high School at Chase Terrace Technology College.

The Careers week was headed up by Julie Poppleton with a series of events throughout the week. The idea was to inspire students about multiple career options as well as running their own business.

“Thanks so much for coming in it was a great session and we could not inspire future generations without the time our employers and partners give us” – Julie Poppleton

The first event David helped out with was running a Web Design workshop on Tuesday. The workshop ran for just over an hour and we were informed that this was the most popular workshop of the day. David worked with students introducing them to the powers of content management systems and setting them the task to go ahead and create their own website with a simple CMS.

The second event David got to be one of the Dragons in Chase Terrace’s very own Dragons Den, filtering down some select students to a final few who faced all the Dragons. There were some amazing (and obscure) ideas but all the students really got involved and there were some great young minds at work!

We will certainly be getting involved again next year

xmasIt has become tradition now that every year we donate a Christmas tree to a local School.

This year we decided to donate it to Abacus Nursery in Burntwood, where the future of inLIFE (our Directors son, Harrison) currently attends. The tree can be seen proudly sitting in the front window, and we hope all the children enjoyed looking at it every day! Also thanks to Abacus Nursery for giving us a special thanks in their Newsletter and on Facebook!

A big thanks to everyone who made it to the inLIFE Open Day 2016 and especially our clients Vertical Trix, DJ Cutloose and The Ruby Xpress for providing all the entertainment. If you couldn’t make it you may have watched the live streaming from multiple cameras throughout the day.

Take a look at the event below and also a live message from Danny John Jules!

A little message from Danny John-Jules as to why he couldn’t make it! He cracks us up!

1At inLIFE we always like to be at the forefront of web technology, so today sees the start of our new venture working on mobile and web based applications that interact with virtual reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift and Oculus Samsung gear VR (for use with mobile apps).

Oculus last year was acquired by web giants Facebook who are already working behind the scenes to bring a VR world to the Facebook universe. Also with announcements of the new Steven Spielburg film ‘Ready player one’ based on the popular book by Ernest Cline this science fiction will soon be a reality within our lifetime.

The whole premise behind the inLIFE brand name is bringing the web seamlessly into life, so this is our first step forward into achieving this.

We have now teamed up with 3D visualisationย gurus at WhiteCrow studios, working closely with them to bring you interactive 3D apps and websites. Imagine stepping into a 3D online shop and being able to physically look at the products (even feel them with the future of haptic technology) and read all about a products particular features. Or walk round an entire showroom changing the colour of the furniture, wallpaper and flooring to suite your needs. These are all projects currently in the pipeline with the calibration between inLIFE & WhiteCrow, so watch this space!
